Superlativ prideva u engleskom (the -est / the most)
Kada želiš da izdvojiš ono što je najveće, najbolje ili najvažnije u nekoj grupi, u engleskom koristiš superlativ. Na kratke prideve dodaješ nastavak -est uz obavezno "the": "He is the tallest in the class." Kod dužih prideva ne menjaš sam pridev, već ispred njega stavljaš "the most": "It's the most beautiful city." Neki pridevi su nepravilni i moraš ih zapamtiti, npr. "This is the best day." Za razliku od srpskog, gde superlativ gradimo prefiksom naj- (najviši, najlepši) i ne moramo da ponavljamo član, engleski skoro uvek traži "the", pa nemoj da kažeš "She is tallest" niti da mešaš oblike kao "the most tallest".

Два придева крше правила и користићеш их сваки дан. Good постаје the best, а bad постаје the worst. Научи их напамет. This is the best day.

Сада две класичне замке. Никад не мешај облике. Каже се the tallest, не the most tallest. Изабери један, никад оба.

И не стављај -est на дуги придев. Expensivest не постоји: дуге речи увек узимају the most.
