Future continuous a future perfect: budúce časy v angličtine

Angličtina má dva budúce časy, ktoré nám v slovenčine chýbajú, a práve preto ich Slováci často zamieňajú. Future continuous (will be + -ing) opisuje dej, ktorý bude práve prebiehať v určitom momente budúcnosti: "This time tomorrow I'll be flying to Tokyo." alebo "Don't call at 8 - I'll be eating." Future perfect (will have + minulé príčastie) naopak opisuje dej, ktorý bude do istého bodu už dokončený: "By Friday I'll have finished the report." V slovenčine tieto odtiene vyjadríme jediným budúcim časom (budem letieť, dokončím), takže si treba dať pozor: ak je v anglickej vete "by" a deadline, takmer vždy ide o future perfect, nie o prítomný čas.

  1. will be doing vs will have done

    dva spôsoby, ako hovoriť o budúcnosti

    <t>This time tomorrow I'll be flying.</t> <t>By Friday I'll have finished.</t> Dve budúcnosti, dva úplne odlišné obrazy. Ak si ich pomýliš, znie to zle.

  2. Future continuous = prebieha neskôr. Future perfect = hotové dovtedy.

    Angličtina má čas pre dej prebiehajúci v budúcom okamihu a ďalší pre dej dokončený pred ním. Tu je jadro.

  3. Dva tvary

    future continuous
    • will be + -ing
    • prebieha v okamihu
    • I'll be working
    future perfect
    • will have + príčastie
    • hotové pred okamihom
    • I'll have worked

    Tvary sa ľahko pamätajú. Future continuous je <t>will be</t> plus tvar s -ing. Future perfect je <t>will have</t> plus minulé príčastie.

  4. This time tomorrow I'll be flying to Tokyo.

    future continuous

    Začni prebiehajúcim dejom. Predstav si okamih v budúcnosti a priblíž: dej už prebieha. This time tomorrow I'll be flying to Tokyo.

  5. Don't call at 8 — I'll be eating.

    prebieha vtedy

    Skvelé na plány okolo konkrétnej hodiny. Dej ten okamih obklopuje, nezačína presne vtedy. Don't call at eight — I'll be eating.

  6. By Friday I'll have finished the report.

    future perfect

    Teraz cieľová čiara. Future perfect sa pozerá späť z budúceho bodu na niečo už hotové. By Friday I'll have finished the report.

  7. By 2030 they'll have built the bridge.

    "by" = termín

    Slovo <t>by</t> je tvoj signál: termín. Dej sa dokončí niekde pred tým bodom, nie v ňom. By 2030 they'll have built the bridge.

  8. ✗ By 6 I'll be finishing. o 6 stále prebieha — zle pre termín
    ✓ By 6 I'll have finished. hotové pred 6 — správne

    Termín s "by" potrebuje future perfect, nie continuous.

    Tu je klasická pasca. <t>I'll be finished</t> a <t>I'll have finished</t> pôsobia rovnako, no nie sú. Prvý opisuje stav; druhý dej dokončený do termínu.

  9. ✗ By Friday I finish the course. prítomný čas — znie zle
    ✓ By Friday I'll have finished the course. future perfect — prirodzene

    Nepoužívaj prítomný čas pre budúci termín.

    A nesiahaj po prítomnom čase, keď je termín. <t>By Friday I finish</t> znie rodenému hovorcovi zle. S <t>by</t> potrebuješ <t>will have</t> plus minulé príčastie.

  10. By the time you arrive, I'll have cooked and I'll be relaxing.

    oba tvary v jednej vete

    Často idú oba spolu v jednej vete: jeden dej obklopuje okamih, druhý je dovtedy už hotový. By the time you arrive, I'll have cooked and I'll be relaxing.

  11. Zapamätaj si

    • will be + -ing → prebieha v budúcom okamihu
    • will have + done → hotové pred budúcim okamihom
    • "by" je signál pre future perfect

    Zapamätaj si to takto. <t>Will be</t> plus -ing maľuje dej prebiehajúci neskôr. <t>Will have</t> plus príčastie značí dej hotový do termínu.
